Thomas S. Hoffmann, beloved composer, lost his life to a major myocardial infarction and arteriosclerosis on Oct. 15 at his home in Mariposa, Cal.

Loretta Boeche, 88, a retired newspaper reporter and editor and active volunteer in numerous area organizations, died Oct. 19 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.

Michael W. Merry, 64, of Stacyville-Millinocket, passed unexpectedly Sept. 28 while working in the woods.

Audrey Louise Clark Bartlett, 85, of Damariscotta, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta.

Patricia Lucille (Delano) Chapman, 72, of Waldoboro, passed away Sept. 29 after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center in Portland with her family by her side.

David L. McKown, an eighth generation native, (an endangered species) of the Boothbay Region passed away October 25, 2012, at his family’s camp in Township 28.

Peter McFarland, 67, who died early in the morning of Oct. 16, embodied all the characteristics of what used to be referred to as a Renaissance man.

Paul Alson Erskine, 69, of Wiscasset, died Sept. 30 at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath.

George Leon Field III, 72, of Warren, died Oct. 28 at his home.

Kenneth Harrison Rice, formerly of Christmas Cove, died peacefully and well-cared for on Oct. 4 at Dirigo Pines Retirement Community in Orono, where he had lived for the past three years.
