While Congress works to address key energy and climate challenges facing our nation, news out of Washington suggests some lawmakers are once again looking for an easy out of making the serious decisions and taking the bold actions necessary to create a new clean energy economy. This leaves me feeling uneasy.
Rep. Percy Article On Saltwater License Misleads Public
To the Editor:
Regarding the commentary “Should the state or federal government manage our recreational fisheries” by Rep. Leila Percy that ran in the 2/11/10 edition, I think some clarification is in order.
A New Year For Parents
For many parents, 2009 was a year in which they watched good things happening in the lives of their children. Our schools are helping students eat healthier foods. There’s greater opportunity for children to be engaged in sports, music, dance or arts. Social events and networking keeps them connected their friends.
COMING TOGETHER
Just about every week in our area, someone is holding a fundraiser for someone or something.

When Will Justice Be Served?
July 8, 1988, my 65th birthday; a day I will never forget. I watched the TV to see a young man arrested for a crime he did not commit. Since that day I have felt that a miscarriage of justice was done, but I also felt that it would be straightened out.
