I guess I should take my own advice, and be more vigilant.
It seems the Village Center Ordinance change I have been arguing against is on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant after all. It was part of the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance amendments that the selectmen put off.
A Thought
To the Editor:
A thought: It is well enough that people of the nation…
Foul pharmaceutical company maneuvers cost consumers big bucks
Over the years, I have written many articles on the drug companies and their insatiable greed manifested at the expense of we consumers.
Still A Good Investment

Man’s Best Friend
Puppies are so sweet and so cute. Puppies grow up, and all too often, for whatever reason, so many dogs are living their lives day after day tied outdoors. Some people would say, “It’s the family pet!”
Winteract A Great Success
To the Editor:
On Jan. 31, 70 adults and kids spent the afternoon sledding, snow shoeing and making snowmen and s’mores to raise much-needed funds for fuel assistance.
High Rate Of Underage Drinking
Lincoln County has one of the highest rates of underage drinking in Maine. Consequently, many parents are looking for ways to reduce underage access to alcohol. The current budget environment has significantly impacted Healthy Kids and led to restructuring and staffing changes.
Maybe They Will See The Mess
Seems the stimulus bill package includes monies for those $40 coupons to purchase digital television conversion boxers. If you read about these boxes, the words, “available from $40-60” is noted. In reality, they are not available here for $40 and the taxpayer ends up paying the $20 plus out of pocket.
Contemplating The Constitution
A suggestion to a very noisy nation, (in more ways than one): Quietly contemplate your constitution.
The letters on these pages of LCN have resonated from differing words through rational or scriptural eyes. Although there may be more ways to come to agreement, it hasn’t happened yet.
FOLLOW THE MONEY
Right up there with, “you call that music?”, “now, that was real dancing!” and the classic “close that door, did you grow up in a barn?”, one of the most time honored parental refrains is “money doesn’t grow on trees.”
Deeply Appreciative Of Your Confidence
