Danny Peters Shines at LA Dining Services
Danny Peters lives in Mobius Inc.’s Chapman Street apartments in Damariscotta. Originally from Boothbay, he graduated from Boothbay High School in 1998. In his spare time, Peters competes in the Special Olympics; swimming is his favorite sport. He enjoys video games, rollerblading, taking long walks, and spending time with his cat, Shadow. On weekdays, he works in the Lincoln Academy dining hall kitchen.

As the Maine high school basketball season comes to a close, First National Bank is pleased to report the successful results of its signature athletic-programming sponsorship initiative called First Hoop.
Jefferson Students Design Rube Goldberg Machines
Jefferson Village School fourth-grade teacher Barbara Cunningham wanted her students to have fun while learning about simple machines during science class. Her students studied and performed different experiments using simple machines, like wedges, levers, incline planes, pulleys, wheels and axles, and screws.

Head Start Openings in Lincoln County
Midcoast Maine Community Action currently has openings in Head Start, for children ages 3-5, and Early Head Start, ages 0-3, in Waldoboro and Newcastle, as well as public pre-K programs in Somerville and Whitefield.
GSB PTO to Meet Feb. 1
The Great Salt Bay Community School PTO will meet on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. in John Cannon’s room. The PTO will provide a number of updates on PTO and school activities and will plan Winter Fest, an afternoon of skating (hopefully) and winter fun at Round Top Farm in Damariscotta on Sunday, Feb. 18 from noon-3 p.m. As always, child care will be provided.
Scholarships Available for Maine Students
The Maine Community Foundation offers 576 scholarships that support students pursuing music, journalism, teaching, horticulture, technology, the arts, and many other fields. They are available for students who attend secondary, post-secondary, and graduate schools, as well as nontraditional programs.
