The Bangor Christian Patriots needed extra innings to put away a tough Wiscasset Wolverines team to claim their third straight Maine Class D baseball championship June 22.

Lincoln Academy baseball lost to Greely 3-0 in the Western Maine Class B championship game on June 18 at St. Joseph College in Standish. It was the third time in the past two decades that the Eagles have settled for the West B runner-up plaque.

Six Waldoboro area youth who advanced from the Waldoboro Pitch, Hit & Run competition competed at the Sectional Level of Major League Baseball’s Pitch Hit & Run competition at the ballpark in Old Orchard Beach on May 18.

The Wiscasset boys tennis team picked up a pair of wins this week to improve their record to 7-3 and move them up to sixth place in the West Class C heal points.

Lincoln Academy softball defeated Medomak Valley 10-0 Friday in Waldoboro. Abby Farrin struck out 12 in the win (0B,4H). Hannah Marks collected the loss (11K,1B,12H).

Wiscasset hosted their second track and field meet of the season on May 6.
