Medomak Valley JV girls’ basketball team wrapped up their 2008-09 season with a perfect 17-0 record. This is the first time in the school’s history at Medomak Valley that a JV girls’ team has gone undefeated.
Bryant Wins Pine Tree Title
Central Lincoln County Area (CLAW) wrestler Drew Bryant (155) won the Pine Tree Wrestling League championship on March 21 in Belfast, and Medomak Middle School wrestler Dylan Look (170) place third.

Three local wrestlers won their weight divisions at the Pine Tree Wrestling League’s East tournament, held at Camden Hills High School on Saturday.

Milliken Wins State Championship, Headed To Eastern Zones
Wiscasset Community Center Unsinkable swimmer Ben Milliken, 9, won the 50- backstroke at the Maine Winter Combined Championships and has qualified for the Eastern Zones in the age 10 and under age group. Eastern Zones will be held in Rochester, N.Y. the first week in April.
WHS Swimmer George Places 5th at New England Championships
Tim George placed 5th in the 100-freestyle in 50.74 at the New England championships held at Bates College last weekend.
Kinney Collects Two Bronze Medals At 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games
Lincoln Academy student, Dalton Kinney recently returned from an exciting trip to the 2009 Special Olympic World Winter Games, held in McCall, Idaho in February.
Kinney won two Bronze Medals in the 100 and 200 yard dash snowshoe events. He also collected a blue near miss medal in the 4×100 snowshoe relay, after he ran out of his snowshoe. The relay team was in first place when the mishap occurred. “I didn’t tighten it up enough,” Kinney said of his snowshoe straps.
Coor Named KVAC Cheering Coach Of The Year
Medomak Valley head cheering coach Rachel Coor was named 2008-09 KVAC Coach of the Year.
YMCA Indoor Soccer Starts
CLC YMCA indoor soccer starts this week. There is still time to register for this session of YSports.
The four-week session is for ages 4 and 5, and Grades K-4.
Lincoln County Swimmers Swim To Championship Season With Bath Family YMCA
The Bath Family YMCA capped off a successful winter swim season by capturing the YMCA State Swimming Championship held Feb. 28-March 1 and the Maine U.S. Swimming Winter Championships held March 5-8 at the University of Maine, Orono.
Medomak 8th Wins Boothbay Y Tourney
Medomak 8th grade travel team defeated Rockland 47-33 to win the 30th annual Boothbay Region YMCA Basketball Classic on March 6-8.
Medomak wins WCC Grades 3, 4 tournament
Medomak third and fourth grade boys’ travel team won the Wiscasset Parks & Recreation Department invitational basketball tournament over the weekend.<
