Three wrestlers from Lincoln County placed in the Westlake Wrestling Tournament held in Bath on Nov. 28.

Lincoln Academy wrestlers traveled to York on Saturday for the Sullivan Duals tournament and came away with a 42-36 win over Windham, and losses to York 54-30, Wells 53-29, and Kennebunk 45-36.

Medomak Valley and Lincoln Academy boys’ basketball teams won two games each at the MVHS Holiday Classic, held Dec. 28 in Waldoboro.

Lincoln County deer tag totals hit a new low this year, with only 491 deer tagged at local tagging stations, with only four days left in the muzzle loading season. This year’s totals are less than half of the 999 tagged in 1999, and is the lowest in the 15 years The Lincoln County News has kept a tally.

Lincoln Academy and Medomak Valley girls’ basketball teams picked up two unofficial wins each on Saturday at the Medomak Valley Holiday Classic.

Lincoln Academy’s boys’ varsity basketball team defeated the Alumni 63-51 Friday night.

Medomak Valley wrestling coach Philip Genthner walked into the Medomak Valley gymnasium at the close of the MVHS Holiday Classic carrying a huge trophy and a big smile on his face.

The Alumni nipped the Lady Eagles 33-29 in a close game Friday night.

Admission to Medomak Valley High School basketball games will be $3 for adults, $2 for students, and free for children under 12. Season passes are $27 for an adult, and $72 for a family.

Lincoln Academy runners Mary Leeman and Gary Ward placed in the top 20 at the West Class B Regional Cross Country championships on Oct. 31 in Cumberland to qualify for the State Class B meet to be held on Sat., Nov. 7 at Twin Brook in Cumberland. Race times for Class B are 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m.

A six-week basketball clinic in Bristol wrapped up Nov. 3 with an intersquad scrimmage. A special highlight of the evening for the young players was donning Lincoln Academy jerseys.

Boothbay boys’ cross-country team placed third in the West Class C Regionals in Cumberland on Saturday to qualify for the State Class C meet. Orono won the Regional title and Bangor Christian was second.

A near capacity crowd enjoyed the Harlem Superstars comedy basketball performance at Wiscasset High School Monday night. The event was sponsored by the Wiscasset Middle School for Project Reach, their annual community service project.

The Coastal Christian School soccer team finished its inaugural season in the Maine Christian School Sports League last Thursday at the championship game.
