There are still power outages in most Lincoln County towns, but the Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) has set its sights on returning power to all customers by late Saturday night.
As of noon on Saturday there were 792 outages in Lincoln County, down from the 1266 reported at 9 a.m., according to CMP.
A total of 11 Lincoln County towns are still affected by power outages. All Lincoln County towns had outages during the height of the heavy, wet snowfall and high winds produced by a hard-hitting April Fools Day nor’easter on Friday.
Statewide the storm caused more than 70,000 outages, according to CMP. Lincoln County was the second hardest hit area in the state.
CMP lineworkers and contractors are moving into communities with remaining outages as work in completed in other parts of the company’s service area.
The company urges customers to use caution if they see downed lines. CMP also reminds drivers to use caution when approaching utility crews in the roadway.
