“Normal activities have resumed” at Great Salt Bay Community School after a lock-down that began this morning and continued into the early afternoon.
Central Lincoln County School System Steve Bailey reported the lifting of the temporary security measure shortly before 1 p.m.
A notice on the GSB website reads “Dear Parents: We are no longer in lockdown. Dismissal will remain as usual. A letter will be sent home to parents at the end of the day.”
Law enforcement and school sources said there was never any danger to students inside the school. Damariscotta Police Department officers and Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene.
Bailey said the school went into temporary lock-down after receiving information from LCSO about a “possible outside threat.”
