Whitefield Fire Dept. was paged out to the scene of a vehicle accident involving a bobcat Tuesday night on Townhouse Road.
Chief Jim Brann said the incident was taken care of before units could respond and they were turned back.
“About 6:30, a bobcat was run over by a car and killed just north of George Hall’s driveway, by the golf course,” Brann said. He did not know the name of the driver. “That’s all I know. There was no damage to the car.”
A spokeswoman for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was phoned in, no report was filed, and Dep. Sheriff Justin Drake who took the call, couldn’t be reached at press time.
