A Jefferson couple faces felony drug charges following their arrest and search of their home on Sept. 4.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, police seized more than $3000 worth of cocaine and heroin following the execution of a search warrant on the residence of John and Kathy Healey on the Augusta Road in Jefferson around 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Maine State Police and the Maine Warden’s Service assisted Lincoln County deputies at the scene. The Maine State Police Tactical Team assisted with the entry and securing the residence.
As a result of the search warrant, John Healey, 44, and Kathy Healey, 40, were both arrested and charged with Illegal Importation of Scheduled Drugs, a Class C felony. John Healey was additionally charged with Unlawful Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs, a Class B felony. Further charges are expected for John Healey according to the LCSO.
Both Healeys are being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail, John on a $20,000 cash bail; Kathy on a $10,000 cash bail, pending their respective appearances in court.
According to the LCSO, this search warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation into the importation and trafficking of illegal drugs in Lincoln County and the Midcoast Region. Illegal drugs seized during the search were cocaine, with a street value of $2800, and heroin, with a street value of $300.
