Following a 9:30 a.m. briefing with Central Maine Power officials, Lincoln County Emergency Management Office director Tim Pellerin reports there is a great possibility that citizens without power at this time could remain without power overnight.
As of 10 a.m. nearly 10,000 meters in Lincoln County are without power.
As of 7 a.m. this morning, approximately 300 roads in Lincoln County were without power, according to a statement from Pellerin’s office.
With every town in the county affected, First Responders and local law enforcement have been working with Central Maine Power through the night to assist with the restoration of power and assure the public’s safety.
Hardest hit towns in Lincoln County are Bristol, Edgecomb, Jefferson, Dresden, Newcastle, and Nobleboro.
LC EMA reports one warming shelter will be opened at the Boothbay Fire Department, Rt. 27 in Boothbay at 9:30 a.m. More warming shelters will be opened should events warrant.
St. Andrews Hospital has been under generator power since 3:45 a.m. and is operating fine, according to local EMA Director David Benner. Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta is experiencing no issues at this hour.
Water districts throughout Lincoln County have been maintaining. Great Salt Bay Water District and Sewer District have operated a pumping station on generators since 2 a.m. but report no issues with operations; Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, and Waldoboro Water Districts report no issues at this time.
Lincoln County EMA Emergency Operations Center has been manned since 4 a.m. this morning. Further updates are planned throughout the day.
