For those Lincoln County residents who may have been envious of the snowfall our southern neighbors have been receiving — and for those who were all set with open roads and clear driveways — things will be changing soon, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
On Mon, afternoon the NWS issued a Winter Storm Watch regarding a storm that is forecast to develop off the New Jersey coast Mon. night and then chug up north, delivering a good slug of snowfall to Lincoln County.
Presently, the NWS is calling for 4 to 8 inches of accumulated snowfall by the time the storm is forecast to leave town Weds. morning. Any change in the storm’s course could mean heavier, or lighter, snowfall totals.
The Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Tues. morning into Weds. morning, however forecasters agree that Lincoln County shouldn’t see significant snowfall until Tues. afternoon or evening.
Should the storm continue to close in on Lincoln County the NWS will upgrade the Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning sometime on Tues.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this storm and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
