On April 9, the dining common at Lincoln Academy was once again host to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office annual awards banquet. Each year, for the past six years, Sheriff Todd Brackett and his command staff have hosted a dinner and awards ceremony honoring staff as well as community members and service organizations that support the mission of the Sheriff’s Office.
The “2010 Deputy of the Year” award went to Deputy Brian Collamore of Bremen. Deputy Collamore was commended for his, “professional service and dedication to the citizens of Lincoln County and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.” Collamore is assigned to the Patrol Division, is a DARE Instructor and an Emergency Vehicle Operation Course Instructor.
Lt. Rand Maker and Deputy Robert Foster were each awarded an “Exceptional Duty Bar.”
Lt. Maker’s award was for his actions during a medical emergency in September 2010 in Nobleboro. Finding an elderly man who was unconscious and not breathing, he assisted the EMS First Responders with CPR and by deploying his Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The man’s heartbeat and breathing were restored and he was transported to the hospital.
Deputy Foster’s award was for his many years of services coordinating, scheduling and overseeing the Court Security Division for the Sheriff’s Office. The Court Security Division is responsible for the security of the Lincoln County Court House and the safety of the judicial staff.
Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to the Midcoast Regional Task Force of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Maine office of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and Sweetser Crisis for their, “support of the public safety mission of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.”
