Camden National Corp. was named one of the “2009 Best Places to Work in Maine” by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management, placing second in the large-company category (250 employees or more).
Camden National was recognized with this prestigious honor along with 30 other Maine-based companies at an awards banquet at the Ramada Conference Center in Lewiston on Oct. 13. This is the second time in four years that Camden National Corp. has received this designation, having been named to the inaugural “Best Places to Work in Maine” list in 2006.
The event, endorsed by Best Companies Group, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, Employment Times, and Mainebiz, recognizes companies that have established and consistently championed outstanding workplace environments.

To be eligible for consideration for The Best Places to Work in Maine, a company must meet the following criteria: Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity; be a publicly or privately held business; have a facility in Maine; have a minimum of 15 employees working in Maine; and, have been in business a minimum of one year.
The Best Places to Work Assessment Process includes two comprehensive components: an employer benefits and policies questionnaire and an employee engagement and satisfaction survey.
