Updated at 12:14 p.m. on Dec. 18 — 12 inches of snowfall in Bristol and 11 inches in Westport Island.
Numerous Lincoln County schools and businesses are reporting closures and delays following an overnight snowstorm that lasted a bit longer than forecast, and may have dumped more snow than predicted.
Accurate snowfall measurements for the storm are still pending, but observations indicate that accumulation may have been higher than the 4 to 8 inches forecast. A broadcast report indicates 12 inches of snowfall in Bristol and 11 inches in Westport Island.
On the bright side, no power outages have been reported in Lincoln County by Central Maine Power despite the snowfall accumulation, which stayed light and “fluffy” because of low temps. Additionally, aside from the usual slide offs, no major incidents have been reported regarding the storm at the time of this posting.
Among the locations reporting two-hour delays were Lincoln Academy, Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor Schools, Edgecomb Eddy School and Southport Central School,
Among the locations reporting closures for the day were RSU 40-SAD 40 and Salt Bay Area Head Start.

A parking ban in Boothbay Harbor goes in to effect at 11 a.m.
