Damariscotta Police report three counterfeit $20 bills have been recovered at area businesses within the last 24 hours.
Police Chief Steve Drake recommends people refer to the following websites for tips on spotting counterfeit currency: www.secretservice.gov and www.moneyfactory.gov.
Anyone with a currency concern is invited to call the Damariscotta Police at 563-1909.
