Damariscotta Police Chief Steve Drake is on paid administrative leave, Town Manager Greg Zinser said April 8.
Drake was placed on leave late Wednesday night, April 6, Zinser said.
Zinser declined further comment.
Drake left an April 6 meeting of the Damariscotta Board of Selectmen after an emotional exchange with town officials and citizens during discussion of the Damariscotta Police Dept. budget.
Drake declined comment for this article.
