The Damariscotta Police Department is investigating a Feb. 12 hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Belvedere Road and Route 1.
Officers are on the lookout for a vehicle, possibly a silver Dodge Caliber, Subaru Forester or Subaru Outback, with damage to the driver’s side rear. The driver was a female, possibly in her 50s.
Aisha E. Hixon, 25, of Richmond, was driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber north on Route 1 at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to Damariscotta Patrol Officer Jason Warlick.
The silver vehicle was traveling west on Belvedere Road and attempted to cross Route 1, pulling out in front of Hixon’s vehicle.
Hixon’s vehicle hit the silver vehicle. Hixon was not hurt, but the vehicle sustained “substantial driver’s side front damage,” Warlick said.
The silver vehicle left the scene and continued west on Belvedere Road, toward the Nobleboro town line.
The Damariscotta Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office searched the area, but did not find the vehicle.
The Damariscotta Police Department asks anyone with information about the accident or the silver vehicle to call the department at 563-1909 and ask for Patrol Officer Jason Warlick.
