The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a Damariscotta woman Wednesday, July 29 for allegedly attempting to mail oxycodone and Percocet to someone out of state.
Jennifer J. Rosa, 37, of Damariscotta, faces a class B charge of aggravated furnishing of schedule W drugs, according to Jim Pease, of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
“She was sending pills to somebody in another state,” Pease said. “The package she was trying to send was turned over to us and then we seized the package and conducted an investigation from there.”
Agents found five pills and a small bag of marijuana. “They were hidden in a CD case in the package,” Pease said. Agents arrested Rosa around 5 p.m.
Rosa is on probation for drug trafficking, which elevates the charge against her, according to Pease. A class B crime carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Rosa pleaded guilty to a felony charge of oxycodone possession Oct. 30, 2014. She was sentenced to a fully suspended four years in prison, two years of probation, and a $400 fine.
Rosa could serve part or all of the four-year sentence if she violates probation. Any crime constitutes a violation of probation.
As of Thursday afternoon, July 30, Rosa remains at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, where she was being held without bail. She is due to appear in court Friday, July 31.
