The Dept. of Transportation’s summer paving projects include Harrington Road, in Bristol and South Bristol, and Huddle Road in Bristol.
The condition of Harrington Road, which connects Rt. 129 to Rt. 130, is the frequent source of complaints from citizens of the two towns.
The Bristol Board of Selectmen, at its Feb. 22 meeting, expressed some skepticism about the “Light Capital Paving” the state plans for the roads.
According to a letter from DOT Utility Engineer Michael Moreau to municipalities across the state, light capital paving “in general, will consist of an average depth” of five-eighths of an inch.
“We usually put on three inches – two inches of base and an inch of finish coat,” Chad Hanna, the chairman of the Bristol Board of Selectmen, said. “But that’s just us.”
In other business, the selectmen appointed Troy Benner, Craig Elliott, Angela Kortemeier, Don Means and Deb Skoglund to the Bristol Appeals Board.
