The Damariscotta Fire Department had to extricate a female driver after her vehicle was struck on Miles Street near LincolnHealth – Miles Campus at around noon Dec.
26.
According to Damariscotta Police Officer Devin Polizzotti, a silver Nissan Versa operated by Julieta Spurlock, 61, of Woolwich, was making a left turn off of Schooner
Street when it was struck in the side by a black Toyota Prius operated by Peter McNaughton, 60, of Newcastle.
Through his investigation, Polizzotti said he determined Spurlock was at fault for the accident by running the stop sign at the end of Schooner Street.
Both drivers reported injury, but McNaughton was able to transport himself to the nearby hospital, Polizzotti said.
After extrication, Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service transported Spurlock to the hospital for complaints of pain in her neck, head, and legs, Polizzotti
said.
Both drivers were treated and released the same day, according to LincolnHealth spokesman Alan Crowell.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the accident.
