Edgecomb Fire Chief Roy Potter credits the quick thinking of a resident for extinguishing a fire that could have easily gotten out of control Tuesday night.
Fire departments in Edgecomb, Wiscasset, and Boothbay responded to a 7 p.m. call for a chimney fire at 400 Mill Rd.
“There were a few glowing embers when I arrived on scene,” Potter said.
Fire department personnel cleared the scene at around 8 p.m. There were no injuries.
