A mid-day thunderstorm preceded by a Severe Thunderstorm Warning from the National Weather Service (NWS) passed through Lincoln County with plenty of bluster but little damage. However, more storms are in the forecast through the afternoon and into the night, according to the NWS.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday night. These storms are tracking east-northeast and moving at 30-35 mph, a relatively high speed; so little advance warning can be expected regarding them. Lincoln County residents are encouraged to monitor weather broadcasts and “keep an eye to sky” for the remainder of the day.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
