The lights on the Twin Village bridge over the Damariscotta River have been vandalized every night since they were turned on Nov. 27.
Light bulbs have been removed from the string of lights placed on the bridge by Troop 213 Boy Scouts. When one bulb is removed, the entire string goes dark. It is a labor- intensive process to determine where the missing bulbs are and replace them, especially after dark.
The lights were donated by Renys, and the extension cords and timers by Louis Doe Home Center. Scouts have decorated the bridge for over 10 years to brighten up the entrance to downtown. Please contact the Damariscotta Police Dept. if you notice someone vandalizing the lights.
To report strings of lights out, please contact Troop 213 Scoutmaster Chris Roberts at 563-3362 (nights) or 563-3173 (days).
