Newcastle Publick House LLC, the owner of the Newcastle Harbor House, plans to reapply to the Newcastle Planning Board for a permit to complete the building at 75 Main St.
The company’s previous permit expired May 31.
Newcastle Publick House LLC will also appear before the Newcastle Design Review Committee to ask for a change in its design review certificate, town attorney Peter Drum said.
Drum had previously said the town had the option to summons the company and levy daily fines for its failure to complete the building’s exterior within a year of starting construction. The town has not taken any such action, he said.
Last month, a Newcastle Publick House LLC representative told The Lincoln County News construction had been delayed by issues with custom-made windows.
In other Newcastle news, the Dept. of Transportation intends to hire a contractor to paint the bridge over the Rt. 1 on-ramp either in the fall or the first half of 2013.
The project should take 4-8 weeks to complete, according to a letter from DOT project manager Nate Benoit to Newcastle Town Administrator David Bolling.
The work will not close the bridge, although traffic “will travel at a slower rate as the roadway will be constricted,” Benoit wrote.
“By painting the bridge, the beams will be protected against corrosion and the bridge life will be extended,” he wrote.
