Officials from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office concluded their investigation into the death of an 80-year-old man in Bristol Thursday, Aug. 27.
Police and emergency medical technicians responded to Sunset Drive Loop in Pemaquid Thursday evening after the man reportedly fell on the rocks.
According to LCSO Lt. Rand Maker, deputies responded to the call at 8:12 p.m. The man was reportedly on the shore “dumping some water out” when he fell. Maker said people witnessed the man strike his head on the rocks.
“We determined it was nothing more than just an accident,” Maker said.
As of press time, the LCSO has not identified the deceased.
Following standard procedure, the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta will send someone to the funeral home to examine the body, Maker said.
Maker said LCSO Detective Sgt. Ron Rollins conducted additional interviews Friday.
