Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
Nov. 4, Benjamin K. Lufkin, 20, of Warren was issued two summonses: one for a probation violation and one for operating under the influence, on Upper East Pond Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.
Nov. 1, Michael A. Dunning, 22, of Wiscasset was arrested for violating condition of release, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Det. Robert McFetridge.
Oct. 30, Jesse Erskine, 27, of Boothbay, operator failing to use a seatbelt; operating a vehicle with an expired registration, Rt. 27, Edgecomb, Sgt. Jason Nein.
Oct. 31, Brian Simmons, 20, of Damariscotta, speeding, 73 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone, River Rd., Newcastle, Sgt. Jason Nein.
Nov. 1, Christopher Hamel, 61, of Industry, improper passing, Rt. 32, Jefferson, Sgt. Jason Nein.
On Oct. 30, an accident occurred on Rabbit Path Road in Alna involving Elizabeth A. Miller-Grant, 18, of Gardiner. Miller-Grant was operating her 2002 Saturn L200 when a deer entered the roadway. She swerved to avoid striking the deer and lost control of her vehicle. As a result, the vehicle went into a ditch and then crossed the road before striking an embankment. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Main Street at Country Corners Grocery in Whitefield involving Zachary C. Haskell, 19, of Dresden and Walter K. Hanson, 50, of Whitefield. Hanson’s 2004 Chevrolet 1500 was parked in the parking lot. Haskell, operating his 2003 GMC TK3600, was attempting to get gas and backed into Hanson’s vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Rt. 144 on Westport Island involving Laura Travis, 21, of Wiscasset. Travis was operating her 1996 Dodge Stratus northbound when her vehicle entered the northbound shoulder and struck a utility pole where it came to rest. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Jefferson Road in Whitefield involving Melissa J. Hunnibell, 49, of Whitefield. Hunnibell was operating her 1997 Mazda Protégé westbound when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle and was struck, causing damage to the driver’s side front. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 2, an accident occurred on Common Road in Dresden involving Laura C. Ronan, 59, of Dresden. Ronan was operating her 2009 Subaru Forester northeasterly when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Major Ken Mason was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 3, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Edgecomb involving Anthony M. Sullivan, 42, of Newcastle. Sullivan was operating his 2009 Ford Ranger northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck the front of his vehicle. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 4, an accident occurred on Upper East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Benjamin K. Lufkin, 20, of Warren. Lufkin was operating his 2000 Chevrolet northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line, striking a large tree on the left side of the roadway. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 5, an accident occurred Rt. 27 in Edgecomb involving Ann M. Dowrick, 81, of Westport Island; Kristina W. Hamrin, 47, of Boothbay Harbor and Jason S. Ullman, 38, of Bath. Dowrick was operating her 2004 Chrysler Town & Country southbound. Hamrin was operating her 2006 Dodge Dakota, followed by Ullman’s 2006 Ford Econoline, northbound on Rt. 27. As Dowrick approached a right curve, she crossed the center line and entered Hamrin’s path. Hamrin steered right in an attempt to avoid Dowrick’s vehicle, however, Dowrick’s vehicle struck Hamrin’s vehicle and continued forward. Ullman also steered right, however, Dowrick’s vehicle also struck his vehicle. Dowrick’s vehicle continued southbound where it crossed back in the southbound travel lane and came to rest. Hamrin and Ullman both pulled over onto the northbound shoulder. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 5, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Edgecomb involving Arthur S. Perry, 78, of Rockport. Perry was operating his 2000 Toyota Camry northbound when a deer entered the roadway and entered into the path of his vehicle. Perry was unable to avoid striking the deer, however, the deer then fled the scene. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
