The parade will follow the traditional route from Mills Road to Business Route 1 to the Damariscotta Baptist Church with stops for memorial ceremonies at Newcastle’s Memorial Park and on the Twin Villages bridge.
Local organizations are welcome to participate by following restrictions that apply. political, religious, fundraising, promotional displays, offensive signs, alcohol, or fireworks, and no throwing of items from vehicles or floats is not allowed.
Float operators must be over 18 years old, fully licensed and insured, and riders on floats must be in secure and safe positions. Walkers must be a safe distance from moving vehicles and animals must be under control at all times.
White’s Company, a local Revolutionary War living history group, will participate in the program to honor America’s fallen soldiers.
The Court House will open at noon. Visitors can picnic on the grounds, take a walk on the nature trail along the Kennebec River, or explore the 2 1/2-mile trail system across Route 128 from the courthouse entrance.

The parade will cross Route 1 and go down Jefferson Street, take a right on Main Street and continue down the hill to the monument at Pine Street. Veterans from campaigns in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, and Iraq are invited to participate.
Decorated wreaths will be placed at the Town Office Monument, the Old Library Monument, and The Pine Street Monument. Town Clerk Linda Perry will carry a wreath in the parade to toss into the Medomak River.
The observance begins at 10 a.m. and will be held in the townhouse, on Townhouse Road, near the intersection with Route 126. Refreshments will follow. The case histories of Maine soldiers will be featured.
