The Regional School Unit/Maine School Administrative District 40 Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Medomak Middle School Principal Benjamin Vail, with regret
“After much reflection, I’ve determined that it is an appropriate time for me to retire from public education,” Vail wrote in a letter to the board. Calling it a retirement announcement, Superintendent Susan Pratt read the letter at the board’s June 6 meeting.
Vail was not present.
“It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve the people of MSAD/RSU 40,” Vail wrote. “I moved to Waldoboro 29 years ago, and have loved working with the students here.”
Prior to becoming principal at MMS, Vail taught at Medomak Valley High School and served the district as principal of the A.D. Gray and D.R. Gaul schools
The resignation will become effective Aug. 1.
