On March 12, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at the home of Robert Wallace, age 54, on Birch Lane, in Newcastle.
This search warrant was the result of an investigation into the allegation that Wallace was a convicted felon in illegal possession of firearms. Wallace was convicted in 1980 of aggravated assault and in 1997 of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (felon).
During the search two rifles were seized along with several rounds of ammunition. Wallace was arrested without incident and charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (felon). He was taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset for processing.
