MaineDOT bridge maintenance crews began repairing the lower Damariscotta Mills bridge on Rt. 215 on the Newcastle/Nobleboro town line.
Crews will be replacing the concrete travel surface of the bridge, which provides for a smoother ride while protecting the bridge substructure. During the construction, traffic will be limited to one lane of alternating one-way traffic regulated by “Stop” and “Proceed When Clear” signs. If there are no weather-related delays, the project is expected to be completed within six weeks.
Motorists are asked to drive carefully through the construction zone.
