The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory as a moderate snowstorm moves through Lincoln County. One area school is sending students home early, and drivers are using extra caution on snowy roads.
The storm is forecast to bring 3 to 6 inches of accumulation, with inland areas on the midcoast receiving most of the snowfall, according to NWS.
RSU 40/SAD 40 has announced early dismissals, at 11:45 a.m. for secondary school students and 12:45 p.m. for elementary school students. The Waldoboro Baptist Church has announced that all activities for the day are cancelled.
No major incidents and no power outages were reported in Lincoln County at the time of this posting.
The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until midnight Wednesday. The snowfall is forecast to taper off in the late afternoon and evening hours.
