A total of 306 Bristol households and one in South Bristol are without power in the wake of a blustery wind and rain storm that came through the area Tuesday night, according to the 11:19 a.m. report from Central Maine Power. No other households in Lincoln County were without power at the time of the report, according to CMP.
That number puts Lincoln County in the unenviable position of having the highest number of power outages in the state, with Cumberland as a distant second with 66 and the statewide total at 478, according to CMP.
The storm brought winds with sustained velocities of 20 to 30 mph, especially in coastal areas, with gusts up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. It also brought what is hopefully the last snowfall of season, with a dusting of the white stuff covering most of the area on Wednesday morning.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
