Some of the Lincoln County areas affected by recent power outages had service restored Sat., but over 6,000 residences remain without power, according to a bulletin issued at 9:30 p.m. by the Central Maine Power Co. (CMP).
Crews will be working through the night, and Lincoln County will be a focus area for restoration efforts on Sun., according to the CMP.
Meanwhile, overnight shelters for Sat. opened in three towns: at the Wiscasset Community Center, the Boothbay Fire Station and the Westport Island Fire Station.
The Wiscasset Community Center is located at 242 Gardiner Rd. (Rt. 27) in Wiscasset and is open to any Lincoln County resident. Individuals are asked to bring their own pillows and blankets.
