Santa Claus kicked off the holiday season with a visit to Damariscotta just after noon on Saturday, Nov. 26.
Children and adults lined Main Street for Santa’s arrival, which included an escort from the Damariscotta Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Damariscotta and Newcastle fire departments. Santa waved to the crowd in a Jeep from Newcastle Chrysler Dodge Jeep.

After a performance by the Renys Rockets dance team from Midcoast Dance Studio, Santa arrived at the Lincoln Theater for photos and to hear Christmas requests from children of all ages. A free showing of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” followed Santa’s visit.
The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event.
