The marriage of Kristen Joy Schweigard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen J. Schweigard of Wiscasset, formerly of Cobleskill, N.Y., to Steven Gilbank, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gilbank of Oneida, N.Y. took place Sept. 27, 2008 at Christ the King Church in Guilderland, N.Y. The church is the bridge’s grandparent’s church, Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Schweigard, who recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The Reverend James Fitzmaurice officiated the Nuptial Mass.
The bride escorted by her father wore a formal length Maggie Sottero gown of ivory taffeta, embellished with lace appliqués, swarovski crystals, and seed pearls to decorate the asymmetrical ruched bodice. Her cathedral veil was edged with crystals. The bride carried a bouquet designed by Renaissance of Guilderland of ivory roses, hydrangea, stephanotis and ferns.
Melissa Schweigard, sister, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Maggie Fitzgerald, Leia Schick and Jessica Garren. Michael Gilbank, brother, was best man. Groomsmen were Gregory Gilbank, Ronnie Debricque, Christopher Drake, Joe Giglio and Jeff Stannard. The bride’s godparents, Barbara Carl and Bruce Garren also participated in the ceremony.
The reception was held at the Museum of Dance, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Nicoles of Albany catered the event. Music was provided by Mike Garrasi, Music Man.
The bride is a graduate of Cobleskill High School and the University of Georgia. She is the Education Program Manager at the Albany Institute of History & Art. The groom is a graduate of the University of Buffalo and is founder and principal of Innersourced LLC in Saratoga Springs.
The couple honeymooned at Lido Beach in Sarasota, Fla. and reside in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
