A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Lincoln County by the National Weather Service (NWS). The line of storms extends along the length of the county and is moving fast, easterly at about 30 miles per hour. Residents should take proper steps to safeguard themselves and their property.
The storm is capable of producing quarter sized hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph, according to the NWS. “This is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path prepare immediately for damaging winds, destructive hail and deadly cloud to ground lightning,” the NWS bulletin warns.
The Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued at 1:15 p.m. and is in effect until 1:45 p.m. Another Severe Thunderstorm Watch, meaning that severe weather is possible, is in effect until 10 p.m., according to the NWS.
