A single passenger car rolled over on Rt. 215 or S. Clary Road in Jefferson Monday morning.
The driver, 66-year-old Jefferson resident Mohamed Farag, was alone in the car when he lost control of his Jeep Cherokee coming around a corner near 1080 S. Clary Rd. at about 11:43 a.m.
The car rolled into a ditch and stopped upside down. Farag was able to open his door and get out before a passing car stopped and called 911.
Farag was wearing his seatbelt and refused medical treatment, suffering only a small cut on his head from broken glass in a trash bag inside the car.
The official cause of the accident is unsafe speed, Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Gilbert said. The deputy said it didn’t appear Farag was speeding or intoxicated. Farag had studded snow tires, which may have caused him to skid on gravel on the road, Gilbert said.
