Waldoboro Police arrested two men last week as a result of an investigation into a burglary in Waldoboro in December.
Shawn Brewer, 29, of Waldoboro was arrested and charged with felony burglary and theft, misdemeanor drug possession, and felony violation of conditional release.
Along with Brewer’s home, police searched the homes of his father and grandmother. All three homes are on Friendship Road.
Brewer’s father, Kevin Brewer, 52, also of Waldoboro, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor drug possession as a result of the search. His arrest is not related to the burglary.
Waldoboro Police executed all three searches simultaneously on Jan. 4, with assistance from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Maine Drug enforcement agency, Damariscotta Police Dept. and Maine Warden Service. Shawn Brewer’s father’s and grandmother’s homes were included because it was believed stolen items might be stored at their homes.
The searches were part of an investigation into a Waldoboro burglary on Dec. 13. Police recovered stolen property connected to the Waldoboro burglary, as well as property connected to an unrelated incident in Damariscotta, police said.
Shawn Brewer is being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail without bail; Kevin Brewer posted $2000 unsecured bail and has been released, jail officials said.
“The case is currently still under investigation,” Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde said. “Additional charges and/or arrests are likely.”
