The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning in regard to a weather system forecast to visit Lincoln County from Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning (Jan. 18-19).
While forecasters are in agreement that precipitation will arrive with the weather system, they’re not too sure in what form, either snow or rain, or when.
Presently the NWS is calling for precipitation to arrive in Lincoln County as snowfall during the mid-morning to mid-afternoon hours today.
Temperatures will rise as the storm moves in during the afternoon, and snowfall is forecast to change over to a wintry mix inland and rainfall near the coast. Motorists during the evening commute can expect an ever-changing combination of snow, sleet, and rain.
Mixed precipitation and/or rain are forecast to continue through the night and wind down on Wednesday morning, according to the NWS.
The Lincoln County News website will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional here as soon as it becomes available.
