The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 42-year-old Whitefield man on a felony charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Due to the alleged victim being under the age of 12 at the time of the offense, this is a class A charge. LCSO deputies arrested William Curran at his Pittston Road home on Tuesday, Nov. 9.
This arrest was part of a joint investigation with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit. The computer crimes unit executed a search warrant at Curran’s residence in April, seizing what police describe as digital media, at the time.
After reviewing the information found by the Computer Crimes Unit, on Nov. 9, LCSO deputies executed a second search warrant at Curran’s residence.
Curran was arrested later the same day and taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. He is currently being held on $100,000 cash bail.
Anyone having any further information on this investigation is asked to contact Detective Scott Hayden of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 882-7332.
