A domestic violence assault arrest on Gardiner Road in Wiscasset on July 1 led to two drug-related arrests, including the arrest of the alleged assault victim.
Tara Balducci, 35, of Wiscasset, filed a complaint with the Wiscasset Police Department alleging she had been assaulted by David Chubbuck, 40, of Wiscasset, which led to Chubbuck’s arrest for domestic violence assault.
Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline said Chubbuck told police Balducci was on probation and was using Suboxone.
Balducci allegedly tested positive for Suboxone, Cline said. She was arrested and charged with two counts of violating conditions of release.
Balducci later told Cline that Chad Brenton, 34, of Wiscasset, was supplying the Suboxone. Brenton allegedly admitted to supplying Balducci with Suboxone and also admitted selling Subutex to Chubbuck for $60, Cline said.
On July 8, Brenton was arrested on charges of unlawful furnishing scheduled drug and unlawful trafficking of scheduled drug.
Both Subutex and Suboxone are prescribed to treat opiate dependency.
