By an overwhelming show of hands, Wiscasset merchants officially formed a formal Chamber of Commerce at an early morning meeting Feb. 16 at the Coastal Enterprises Incorporated office in Wiscasset.
The formal incorporation concludes a busy few months for the merchants who have long sought to combine their resources in hopes of attracting business to the area. In addition to the vote, a Chamber nominating committee report identified 15 potential Board members including David Stapp of the Wiscasset Airport and Rep. Les Fossel (R-Alna).
The Chamber will next meet on March 17 at Sarah’s Café in Wiscasset.
