Wiscasset Police Deparment’s 2008 Ford Police Interceptor was totaled and an officer sustained minor injuries in an accident in the early morning of May 21, according to Sgt. Kathy Williams.
Officer Geoff Davis was driving the vehicle on Lowelltown Road when it somehow struck some guy wires of a utility pole between 3:30 and 3:40 a.m., Williams said.
“He driving on the Lowelltown Road, it’s the last thing he remembers – all of a sudden he was going off the road,” Williams said.
Davis was transported to Miles Memorial Hospital where he was checked out for airbag deployment burns on his face and bruises to his hands, Williams said. He was cleared to come back to work for the overnight shift, she said.
Deputy Justin Drake of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, Williams said.
