Though it was a light week for arrests and citations, Lt. John Allen and the Wiscasset Police Dept. received praise for the handling of a missing person incident from resident Constance Schulman.
Schulman, speaking at an April 12 Wiscasset Select Board meeting, said her daughter walked into the ocean on April 7, which set off a massive search and rescue from multiple emergency agencies.
“She was saved was in part because of the hard work of the Wiscasset Police force,” said Schulman. “In that long night of waiting, it was Officer Simmons who came by four times to give me any little piece of information.”
Schulman’s daughter was found successfully and is recovering at an area hospital. “You will probably never need the police; when you do our town force is wonderful,” said Schulman.
The Wiscasset Police report the following:
April 9, Meghan Kennedy, 27, of Newcastle, was issued a criminal summons for operating while license suspended or revoked.
