A Quebec woman was transported by LifeFlight helicopter for injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident on Route 1 in Waldoboro on Aug. 11, according to a Waldoboro Police Department press release.
A northbound 2010 Ford pickup, operated by Roy Cormier, 66, of Quebec, was stopped near Bullwinkle’s Steakhouse on Route 1 to make a left turn when it was struck in the rear by a 2012 Toyota sedan operated by Francois Gagnon, 55, of Quebec, according to the release.
Ariane Pelletier, 55, of Quebec, was a passenger in Gagnon’s vehicle and sustained the only injuries of those involved in the accident, according to the release. She was subsequently transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by LifeFlight helicopter, where her status was not immediately available.
Emergency personnel responded at approximately 1:50 p.m. and Route 1 was closed for approximately one and a half hours before the scene was cleared, according to the release.
Comier’s truck sustained damage to its rear end and and the rear of the driver’s side, while Gagnon’s sedan was totaled, according to the release.
