In this presidential election year, the nation faces a crisis of confidence in our democracy. This summer, the Betta Ehrenfeld Public Policy Forum from the Frances Perkins Center features Nicholas Penniman, co-author with The Center for Public Integrity’s Wendell Potter of “Nation on the Take: How Big Money Corrupts our Democracy and What We Can Do About It.” Moyers and Company’s Michael Winship calls Penniman and Potter’s work “a stunning indictment of the corrosive influence of money in politics.” Join us for an interactive discussion not only about the extent to which dark money has permeated our system of government, but also for constructive suggestions about what we as ordinary citizens can do about it.
The 2016 Betta Ehrenfeld Public Policy Forum from Frances Perkins Center will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in Darrows Barn at DRA’s Round Top Farm, 3 Round Top Lane, Damariscotta. Tickets are $35 per person and may be ordered by emailing info@francesperkinscenter.org, visiting our website at www.francesperkinscenter.org, or phoning the Center at 207-563-3374.
