One of country music’s most successful groups, HIGHWAY 101, will perform at the 2017 Countrygrass Music Festival in Jefferson, Maine on
Saturday, August 19th. The group signed with Warner Brothers Records-Nashville in 1987, and went on to record five of their thirteen albums
for the label, including the debut project which went GOLD. The ACM (Academy of Country Music) & CMA (Country Music Association)
awarded them twice as Vocal Group of the Year and twice won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance.
In total, they have scored ten hit singles in a row on the Billboard Hot Country Charts, including four #1’s in the United States and five #1’s in
Canada which included, “Somewhere Tonight”, “Whiskey If You Were A Woman”, “Cry, Cry, Cry”, and “Who’s Lonely Now”. Highway 101
has had fifteen Top 30 hit singles and five albums that have reached the Top 20 charts.
When founding lead singer, Paulette Carlson, left the band in 1991 she was replaced by the current lead singer, Nikki Nelson, and Highway 101
continued grinding out the hits. The first of which was “Bing Bang Boom”, and they continue recording. In 2010, they performed at The Grand
Ole Opry to celebrate their critically acclaimed DVD project, “Christmas on Highway 101”. The Countrygrass Music Festival, being held in a
