Traumatic experiences can impair a person’s sense of self, relationships and belief in a hopeful and promising future. Working through trauma and building new skills can provide deep healing and break the cycle of abuse. Under the guidance of Jane Carson Sandler, RN, US Air Force Retired and author of “Frozen in Fear”: A True Story, Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta is forming a weekly support group for women survivors will offer opportunities for healing and support women’s ability to transform their experience from trauma into hope. Trauma isolates; group creates a sense of belonging. Support group gatherings will take place Monday evening beginning on August 8. Jane is hoping that when she leave for her winter residence in South Carolina that the group will be able to continue on its own. Donation: $1.
